This is the perfect time of year to indulge yourself in a little gastronomic adventure. Marbella may be best known for its beaches and golf courses, but over the past five years the town has seen several superb restaurants open, showcasing the talents of some brilliant chefs. If you thought that cuisine in Marbella was all about paella and typical tourist fayre, then prepare to be pleasantly surprised as we reveal some of our gastronomic favourites.

Sea Grill at the Hotel Puente Romano has quickly become a firm favourite with the Marbella foodie set, and it is not difficult to see why. Enjoying an superb location overlooking the Mediterranean, this stylishly designed restaurant is seemlessly managed by brothers Marco and Carlo Morelli, previously of Villa Tiberio and Barbarella's in London. The menu is international using the finest and freshest ingredients, including dishes prepared in the Tandoor oven, as well as on the charcol grill

Dani Garcia, the best known Michelin starred chef in Marbella, has also opened Bibo, an exciting brasserie style restaurant at the Hotel Puente Romano. Bibo puts a fresh twist on some typical Spanish dishes, as well as featuring a Raw Food Bar and and Oyster Bar, and Garcia also selects only the best cuts of Tuna from Barbate on the Atlantic coast. The Bibo weekend brunch has also proved popular, with steaks being prepared over an oak wood grill.

The classic Marbella dining experience is still The Grill at the Hotel Marbella Club. Very much a “old style” restaurant, The Grill serves classic dishes in a traditional way, and has been doing so since Audrey Hepburn, Sean Connery and a variety of Princes, Dukes and Counts made the Marbella Club their base in the 50s and 60s. During the summer nights The Grill is easily one of the most romantic venues in Marbella.
